GREENCITYBUILDINGCOMPANY is the architect for spaulding, a four house small lot subdivision in the fairfax neighborhood of los angeles.
a modern infill development, the project still averages the surrounding historic neighborhood mix of housing types, sizes, and styles. the project utilizes traditional construction means and methods including slab on grade foundations and wood structural systems, with limited steel. like all GCBC projects it employs extensive sustainable elements and features including high performance envelopes, renewable and low/no VOC finishes, passive solar orientation, on site water retention and filtration, water efficient landscaping, and a pedestrian focus.
