GREENCITYBUILDINGCOMPANY is the architect for rowena, a ten house small lot subdivision in the los feliz neighborhood of los angeles.
rowena is a modern infill development in a quiet, desirable neighborhood but on a large street and moderately sloped site with both street and alley access. the project design is modern but reflects the existing post-war apartment vernacular of the area. the project minimizes grading by stepping up with the slope, with access from both street and alley. the project employs extensive sustainable elements and features including high performance envelopes, renewable and low/no VOC finishes, passive solar orientation, on site water retention and filtration, water efficient landscaping, and a pedestrian focus.
