GREENCITYBUILDINGCOMPANY is the architect for martha, a five house small lot subdivision in the sherman oaks neighborhood of los angeles.
a modern infill development, the project bridges two neighborhoods with a mix of housing types, sizes, and styles. the project remains a traditional development with straightforward construction means and methods including slab on grade foundations and wood structural systems with only limited steel. the project employs extensive sustainable elements and features including high performance envelopes, renewable and low/no VOC finishes, passive solar orientation, on site water retention and filtration, water efficient landscaping, and a pedestrian focus.
