GREENCITYBUILDINGCOMPANY is the architect for lexington, a nine unit apartment building in the virgil village neighborhood of los angeles.
a modern infill development, the project reflects and averages the surrounding mixed eclectic neighborhood. the project also responds to the unique zoning constraints of the applicable specific plan. the project employs a density bonus under state law to increase density while also providing affordable housing. a typical wood frame structure over steel podium is provided. as with all GCBC projects it employs extensive sustainable elements and features including a pedestrian focus in its walkable neighborhood, high performance envelopes, renewable and low/no VOC finishes, passive solar orientation, on site water retention and filtration, and water efficient landscaping.
