GREENCITYBUILDINGCOMPANY is the developer, architect, and general contractor for the project. this role as a 'master builder' allowed GCBC extensive latitude with the program and design, as well as an opportunity to incorporate modern and luxury finishes in a more typical, affordable product.
a modern interpretation of the mid-century modern aesthetic, the project reflects its location in silver lake, the eclectic los angeles neighborhood where MCM masters including neutra, ain, shindler, and lautner all worked. the project is focused on indoor-outdoor connections and living, pedestrian orientation and connection to the street, and compatibility with adjacent development. the project employs extensive sustainable elements and features including solar photovoltaic systems, high performance envelopes, renewable and low/no VOC finishes, passive solar orientation, water efficient landscaping, and a pedestrian focus.
